The land, now known as Oak Meadows Farm, was settled in the 1790s by Isaiah Harrison, a quaker who converted to Methodism. He started a community church which grew with the help of Steven Brooks and is now Bethesda which joins the farm to the southwest. His legacy continued in 1945, when several generations later Wilbur Harrison and his wife built the existing farmhouse. A well known fishing spot, “Harrison’s Pond” followed a few years later. We hope that as this beautiful farm is shared with others in our community that we can continue to honor this family’s legacy.
